Summer Season Hours are:

 Daily 9:00 a.m.      

Last Boats Launched at 5:30 p.m.   Gates Close at 7:00 p.m.

By the Hour:  single kayak $10   and  2-person kayak  $15    Half-day kayak $25 (4 hours) rental before 2 p.m.

 Standup Paddleboard $20 

Each boat rented requires the renter's driver's license for the paddling duration.

Minimum age:  no minimum for kayak paddlers when accompanied by an adult, otherwise 16 years if unaccompanied.  SUP guests min. age is 16 if alone and 13 yrs min. if accompanied by parent.  One guest per board.

We boat all guests as you walk-up, so no reservations are needed. Afternoons on weekends are busy and a short wait may develop, with your choice to wait either at our shaded picnic tables or enjoy a beverage upstairs at Alta's Cafe .

Here is our Pet policy: Dogs are welcomed in our kayaks but not on our boards.

Our weekend afternoons are busy - we will do our best to boat all guests and recommend morning or early afternoon arrival, thank you. 

Indoor restroom facilities are available in the Boathouse.

 August and September Calendar

Guided Tours of Town Lake/Lady Bird Lake.  Every Friday, discover an Austin that few people get to see - from the lake!  Friday morning guided Downtown Tour time is 9:30 a.m. Reservations are accepted in advance by writing "info@congresskayaks.com".  Tour fee is $15 per person. 

Guided Evening Bat Tours.  Bat Tours wrap up at August's end, so reserve for our remaining Friday & Saturday evenings online for $35 per kayak.  Visit our home page top link to reserve a kayak. All ages!

Parking:    Metered parking is 1 block east, at 600 River Street,  at the Mexican American Cultural Center.  MACC Directions:  from Cesar Chavez/1st St. proceed to southbound I-35 access road, pass the IHOP, bear right to River Street stop sign, turn right onto River Street and head into the MACC directly ahead, aim right to park.   A black iron gate to the trail points to crossing Waller Creek and towards the boathouse, about a 4 minute walk.  Sunday parking is free at metered spaces and can be limited due to proximity to popular Rainey  Street.

Our rentals include a life vest and paddle and boats are equipped with seatbacks for your comfort.  A renter's valid drivers license is required for each boat rented.  Cash and credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover) happily accepted.
